Gloucestershire Ladies' County Golf Association

South West Junior Inter-Counties

Starting tomorrow with a final practice round, Team Gloucestershire (Little Spots) will be at Cumberwell Park GC for this year's South West Junior Inter-Counties Championship.

The Team is made up of the following 9 girls plus a non-travelling reserve.

Liz Robbins (C) - The Kendleshire GC

Neve Jeffery (V-C) Knowle GC

Rosie Boyle - Long Ashton GC

Mariella Buchanan - Bristol & Clifton GC

Molly Douglas - Brickhampton Court GC

Millie Gait - Knowle GC

Taylor Hodgson - Long Ashton GC

Frances Sullivan - Long Ashton GC

Sophie Williams - Knowle GC

Lucy Brown - Ross-on-Wye (Non-travelling Reserve)

On Monday morning starting at 0800 hours we will be competing against Devon and then in the afternoon at 1420 hours we play Somerset.

On Tuesday morning - not quite such an early start! - we will play Wiltshire (starting at 0920 hours) and then in the afternoon we play Dorset (1500 hours) and our final match will be against Cornwall on Wednesday morning at 0840 hours.

The format is 2 foursomes and 3 singles, so 7 players will be competing in each session with 2 rested - the main difference between the Ladies Inter-Counties and the Junior Inter-Counties is that the Junior event is handicapped with a maximum HI of 24.

With the incredible team that we have, with handicaps ranging from +0.7 to 7.8 we are always challenged when we're having to give lots of shots, but the girls always give their all and we're hopeful with the preparation we have done in the lead up to this year's event we will push all the other Counties all the way.

Wishing Team Gloucestershire all the very best and let's hope we get the results we want!

If anyone would like to watch exceptional junior golf, then Cumberwell Park GC is the place to be between 5 - 7 August - and don't forget, if you're supporting Team Glos, then wear burgundy and the girls will be able to spot you out on the course!
